What the money buys
Every second of speech and every minute of transcription costs us compute at the speech provider, in proportion to use. So that is what you pay for. Studio voices, larger renders and commercial use are gated to the paid plans because that is how the free plan stays free.

Free use needs no account. Paid plans are attached to an email address: sign in with a one-time link, no password.
Questions
What counts as a character?
Every character you send to render, including spaces and punctuation (runs of spaces and line breaks count as one). 1,000 characters is roughly 150 words, a little over a minute of speech. Re-rendering the same text counts again; failed renders are not counted.
How are transcription minutes counted?
By the length of the audio we receive, rounded up to the next second. Your browser compresses the file before upload, so silence at the end of a recording still counts but the video track never does.
When do quotas reset?
Free allowances reset at midnight UTC every day. Paid quotas reset every 30 days, counted from the day you subscribed. Unused characters and minutes do not roll over.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. You keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for, and it does not renew.
Is there a yearly discount?
Yes, 20% off when billed yearly. The monthly quotas are the same.
Which plan allows commercial use?
Creator and Studio: monetised channels, client work, ads, courses and products, no attribution required. The free plan is for personal and non-monetised projects.
Do you offer refunds?
Within 7 days of a payment, if you have used less than 10% of that period's characters and minutes, write to us and we refund it in full. After that, no; the rendering cost has been spent. Details in the terms.
How do I pay?
By card on the hosted checkout page of our payment processor. Card details are entered there, never on this site. You need to be signed in (email link, no password) so the plan is attached to your account.
