texttoaudio.io

Terms of service

Effective 8 October 2026. These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of texttoaudio.io ("we"). By using the site you accept them. Contact: [email protected].

1. The service

texttoaudio.io converts text to synthetic speech, transcribes audio, and converts media files. Some features run in your browser; others use the third-party providers listed in the privacy policy. Free use needs no account; paid plans are attached to an email account.

2. AI-generated voices

All voices are synthetic, produced by an AI speech model. None is modelled on, or licensed as, a named real person. We offer no voice cloning and no celebrity or character voices. Synthetic speech can mispronounce names and mis-read numbers and abbreviations; transcripts can contain errors and timestamps can drift. Check the output before you publish it.

3. Your content and the output

You keep all rights to the text you submit and the audio you upload, and you confirm you have the right to use them. As between you and us, you own the audio files and transcripts generated for you, subject to sections 4 and 5.

4. Licence to use generated audio

  • Free plan: personal and non-monetised use, such as study, proof-listening, personal projects and unmonetised social posts.
  • Creator and Studio plans: commercial use while the plan was active when the audio was generated, including monetised channels, client work, advertising, courses, apps and products. No attribution is required. Audio generated during a paid period stays licensed for commercial use after the plan ends.
  • If a platform or client asks, you may disclose that the voice is AI-generated; you must not claim it is a recording of a real person.

5. Not allowed

  • Presenting synthetic speech as a real person's words, or using it to deceive, defraud, harass or impersonate anyone.
  • Attempting to make a voice sound like a specific real person, including public figures.
  • Content that is illegal, sexually exploits minors, or incites violence or hatred.
  • Uploading audio you have no right to process, including recordings made without the consent the law requires.
  • Reselling raw access to the service, scraping, automated bulk use outside your plan, or circumventing quotas and rate limits.

6. Plans and billing

Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance through our payment processor and renew automatically until cancelled. Quotas (characters of speech and minutes of transcription) reset every 30 days from the start of the subscription and do not roll over. You can cancel at any time; the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid and is not renewed. We may change prices with 30 days' notice; a change never affects a period already paid.

7. Refunds

If you ask within 7 days of a payment and have used less than 10% of that period's characters and minutes, we refund that payment in full. Otherwise payments are not refundable, because the rendering cost has been incurred, except where the law requires otherwise. Write to [email protected] from your account email. Refunds go back to the original payment method through the payment processor.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee it. Providers change; a voice may be retired with notice on the voices page. Failed renders and transcriptions are not counted against your quota.

9. Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend accounts that breach section 5. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from the account page.
